Thu, 03/21/2019 - 01:49

On March 20, 2019, the first batch out of 155 VinFast cars was air-shipped to 14 countries in 4 continents for quality and safety tests. The testing process runs continuously from now until August 2019 to ensure that all VinFast cars meet high European and international standards before officially rolled out.

The total number of VinFast cars expectedly sent out for testing and quality check around the world is 155 cars from the first batch of trial production products, of which 113 are finished cars and 42 are semi-finished vehicles. The transport process is divided into several stages, shipping the vehicles to 14 countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa and Vietnam to ensure that VinFast cars respond well to all real climatic and traffic conditions.

With a large number of cars being tested, instead of checking the cars one by one, test centers in different countries will take turns to simultaneously test multiple vehicles. The simultaneous testing approach allows all VinFast cars to thoroughly undergo over 100 tests in the shortest time.

VinFast cars will be tested against the test system used by the world’s biggest automobile manufacturers with the testing and checking equipment of the highest global standards. If passing those rigorous tests, VinFast cars will be awarded with 5-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating as well as meet the high European standards.

Magna Steyr’s Graz testing center (Austria) and Bosch’s Austria plant will host the majority of VinFast’s testing.

In Vietnam, the series of tests will focus on features for users to make sure VinFast cars accommodate the needs and tastes of customers while responding best to the country’s climate and traffic conditions.

Previously, VinFast regularly sent key components of its car such as engine, chassis, body shell, etc. to overseas test centers for components checks, as well as had various cars undergone trial runs and testing in severe climatic conditions around the world. In addition, each part of the car also experienced hundreds of tests, including separate checks on thousands of components conducted by vendors, under the request and control of Magna Steyr.
